GalaxyStandby is designed to work primarily on your device. It does not require an account, show ads, or include analytics or behavioral tracking.

This policy page is provided for GalaxyStandby's Galaxy Store listing and app users.

1. Scope

This policy explains how AA AND F 2025 LLC ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the GalaxyStandby Android application (the "App").

The App turns a compatible device into a bedside display with clock faces and optional features such as weather, calendar events, notifications, media controls, photo slideshows, and motion wake.

2. Information the App uses

GalaxyStandby has no developer-operated account system or cloud database. Depending on the features you choose and permissions you grant, the App may access the following information.

Approximate location

Used to request local weather. If location permission is unavailable, the App may use an IP-based location service to estimate your area. Coordinates are used for weather and place-name lookup, not for advertising or movement tracking.

Calendar events

Upcoming event details are read from your device and shown in the calendar widget. The App does not upload your calendar to us.

Notifications & media

If you enable notification access, the App can display notification content and media information and provide playback controls. This information is processed on-device and is not sent to us.

Camera frames

If you enable camera-based motion wake, low-resolution camera frames are analyzed on-device only to detect movement. The App does not save, transmit, or use those frames for identification.

Photos you choose

Photos selected for the slideshow are displayed locally. The App does not upload those photos to us.

App settings

Preferences such as clock face, display options, schedule, and feature choices are stored locally on your device so the App can remember them.

Device status

Charging state, battery level, screen state, orientation, and supported device sensors may be used to operate standby, night-display, wake, and foldable-device features.

3. Permissions and why they are requested

  • Approximate location: local weather.
  • Calendar: upcoming events in the calendar widget.
  • Camera: optional motion-wake detection.
  • Notifications and notification access: foreground-service notices, notification display, and media controls.
  • Display over other apps and full-screen display: opening the standby screen when charging or waking.
  • Run at startup, foreground service, battery optimization, and wake lock: reliable charging, screen, and wake behavior.
  • Internet: weather, approximate place lookup, and web fonts used by the display.

You can deny optional permissions or turn them off in Android Settings. The related feature may not work, but the core clock remains available.

4. Network services and sharing

We do not sell personal information. We do not share information with advertisers or data brokers. The App makes network requests only for features that need online information or resources.

Weather and place services. The App may send approximate coordinates to Open-Meteo for forecast data and to BigDataCloud for a place name. It may contact ipwho.is to estimate location from your internet connection when device location is unavailable. As with any internet request, these providers may receive your IP address and technical request information under their own privacy practices.

The App may also load font files from Google Fonts. We do not receive personal information from these providers. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the App, but the App is not designed to send your private on-device content to us.

5. Retention and your choices

Settings and feature preferences stored by GalaxyStandby remain on your device until you change them, clear the App's storage, or uninstall the App. Calendar items, notifications, media details, and photos remain governed by the apps and storage locations they came from.

You can stop access at any time through Android Settings by revoking a permission, disabling notification access, or clearing the App's data. Uninstalling GalaxyStandby removes its locally stored settings.

Third-party network providers may retain request information according to their own policies. We do not control their retention practices.

6. Children's privacy

GalaxyStandby is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App has no account system or analytics, we do not use profile information to determine a user's age.

7. Security

The App uses encrypted HTTPS connections for its weather and location-service requests. No method of device storage or internet transmission is completely secure, but GalaxyStandby limits data handling to what is needed for the features you choose.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if GalaxyStandby's features, legal requirements, or data practices change. The date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last revised.
